Keeping Time, a poem

Keeping Time

quivering, my hands adjust the
ferromagnetic oscillations
of my generator heart
its premature contractions in time with
the rattling nacelles of aircon fans
each orbit of their blades a forward march
one more degree off their axis
a rusting geodesic of palpitations
mumbling an artificial locrian
that only electrodes can hear
